Easy Kitchen Magnets
- Lightweight cardboard
- Colored felt or construction paper
- A small photo (school photo's work well)
- White glue
- Small magnet or sticky-back magnetic backing
Cut two identical shapes out of the cardboard:circle , square , oval , etc. for the frame
Cut a hole out of the center of one of the pieces of cardboard.this will be the front of the frame. The
hole should be large enough that the child's face will show through but not the edges of the photo.
Decorate the front with colored felt or construction paper- one idea would be to create a mosaic effect by cutting out small
triangles , squares , etc. and glaceing them on the cardboard. if you can't afford felt ,just use material scrapes,or buttons,
or anything cute and colorful.
Glue the photo onto the back of the cardboard so the picture shows through. Glue the frame front piece onto the back.
Attach the magnet or magnetic strip. I got the kind w/ self adhesive,if you don't have that kind,just use regular glue.
Baker's Clay
- 2 Cups of White flour
- 1/2 Cup of table salt
- 3/4 Cup of water
- Cookie Cutters
- Hobby Paints
Mix 2 cups of white flour and 1/2 cup of table salt in a bowl.Add 1/2 cup of water and stir.
Slowly add remaining water(1/4 cup)while turning dough in bowl.
Knead for 5 minutes and shape into desired shapes using cookie cutter.
Place on cookie sheet and bake in oven at 250 degrees until hard about 30 minutes.
Let cool then paint.
Colorful Creative Salt
- 1/2 Cup of table salt
- Glue
- Food Coloring
Add 5-6 drops of food coloring to 1/2 cup of salt.
Mix well and place in microwave on high (un-covered) for about1-2 minutes
Use as you would glitter.
